X Prize Trophy Unveiled at National Air & Space Museum
In a recent press release, The X-Prize Foundation unveiled the X-Prize
Trophy that will be on display at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, in Washington, DC for the next 6 months. At the event X-Prize
Foundation President, Dr. Peter Diamandis annouced that they have raised $5 Million of the total $10 Million prize with a recent promotional tie-in with credit card company, First USA Bank.

Attending the ceremony were notable aviation pioneers including; Voyager Pilot, Dick Rutan; Mercury Astronaut, Scott Carpenter; Apollo 9 Astronaut, Rusty Schweickart, and Paul MacCready, winner of the Kremer Prize. Also attending the event were National Geographic Explorer in Residence, Sylvia Earle, Congressman Richard Gephardt and X PRIZE supporter and author Tom Clancy.
