I hate to say 'me too', but ... me too! I have always had grave doubts of
the usefulness of the incremental approach to spaceflight; simply attaining
massive altitude is not sufficient, not by a long shot -- attaining orbital
velocity is the most important factor, and I don't believe that can be
achieved by an incremental approach.
The only thing that can be said in the x-prize's favour is that it raises
awareness of space issues -- not something to be sneered at.
