Space Future has been on something of a hiatus of late. With the concept of Space Tourism steadily increasing in acceptance, and the advances of commercial space, much of our purpose could be said to be achieved. But this industry is still nascent, and there's much to do. So...watch this space.

Former ESA official says investment priorities are backward
Pierre Bartholome, former head of ESA's office in Belgium argued that commercial profits from space activities have been earned from satellite operation, ground equipment manufacturing, satellite manufacturing and rocket manufacturing, in that order.

Rotary Rocket Gets Key Financial Advisor
Rotary Rocket Company, a California company developing the Roton single-stage to orbit reusable spacecraft, announced January 20 that it has brought on the same financial advisors who raised funding for the Iridium communications satellite project.

Protest delays issuing of Bantam contract to Pioneer
Pioneer Rocketplane's successful Bantam bid has been delayed, along with the other three (non-reusable) winners, by a protest from one of the losing bidders, Microcosm, who develop the Scorpius expendable launcher. As a result the programme will be frozen for upto three months whist the US Congress General Accounting office investigates the complaint.
